IEEE ComSoc YP Scotland Meetup on “Trends in Data Communications”
30 November 2017 @ 17:00 - 21:30
FreeIEEE Communications Society’s Young Professionals committee is delighted to invite academics, early career researchers and PhD students from all over Scotland for an evening of talks and professional networking on the 30th of November 2017 at 17:00. This meetup has been themed around current trends in data communications research from applications and technologies towards architectures and networks with keynote talks from leading research and industry institutions including University of Edinburgh, Keysight Technologies (the world’s leading electronic measurement company) and University of Glasgow.
We hope this event will be a great opportunity to learn about related work in data communications research in Scotland, to talk about collaboration opportunities and to meet new people. The talks will cover hot topics around the recent advances in self-healing, intelligent cellular networks, advances in network function virtualisation (NFV) and software-defined networking (SDN) as well as security challenges of the IoT eco-system and the promises of the 5th generation mobile architecture (5G).
IEEE ComSoc YP is delighted to announce 4 speakers for the event:
- Prof. Muhammad Imran (University of Glasgow, School of Engineering)
- Dr. Dimitrios Pezaros (University of Glasgow, School of Computing Science)
- Dr. Frankie Garcia (Keysight Technologies, Edinburgh)
- Dr. Paul Patras (University of Edinburgh, School of Informatics)
